I know Andy and I have been a little quiet on the Scotch on the Rocks front but we are still working on it.

As we announced at A Wee Dram, we will be taking Scotch on the Rocks on to the Road and thus for 2009 will be known as Scotch on the Rocks Road The idea being, as there is a slight down turn in the British Economy instead of you come to us, we will come to you. So to make this possible we will only be able to offer one track and one day in each location.

Just like A Wee Dram we will try and keep the cost low (We are currently looking at £34+vat) and of course those that were at A Wee Dram will get their 10% discount.

We haven't confirmed dates or venues yet, but so that everyone is kept informed and dates are kept free we are working on the following basis:

• London - 1st June 2009 (CFML)
• Edinburgh - 3rd June 2009 (CFML / Flex)
• Dublin - 5th June 2009 (Flex / AIR)

As this is one track per day the number of speakers required is small, and with the responses of last year and of A Wee Dram we will be inviting previous speakers. No point breaking the tried and tested :) but of course if you feel there is a topic / speaker you want to hear then please use my contact form and we will work at getting them in. In addition we want to split out the topics across each day and we will try not to repeat any, but of course if there is a session people want to see at another event then we will try our best to repeat the session. As we have always said Scotch on the Rocks Road is by developers for developers so just let us know and we will try and fulfill your requests within reason.

As you can appreciate there are a certain amount of slots, so we have tried to optimise this to 7 sessions in one day without over loading people. The schedule we are currently working to is as so:

• 10.00-11.00 Session 1
• 11.00-12.00 Session 2
• 12.00-12.30 LUNCH
• 12.30-13.30 Session 3
• 13.30-14:30 Session 4
• 14.30-15.30 Session 5
• 15.30-15.40 BREAK
• 15.40-16.40 Session 6
• 16.40-17.40 Session 7
• 17.40-18.00 Close / Raffle

Starting at 10 means that it gives people a chance to get to the event if they are traveling from outside the main areas.

And if all goes right with the Economy we hope to be able to get back to 3 days of chaos in Edinburgh again in 2010/11 and if Scotch on the Rocks Road works out well, we will make the road longer and go for main land europe too.

On the same note, as all these events seem to be aimed at Developers, does anyone feel that a one day or even half day set of sessions aimed at Mangers / CTO's / COO's / CEO's would be beneficial? If so just let us know! Again just fill in my contact form .
