Over the last week nearly everyone would have been prompted to install the 2.0.0.8 update for Firefox, and a lot of people have blogged /twittered about how unstable it is. Well Percy Cabello at Mozillalinks has said:"Firefox users who updated to the latest Firefox 2.0.0.8 version released last week may find that the Java plugin doesn't work. Apparently one of the dozens of bugs fixes uncovered a Java plugin misbehavior that prevents it from starting properly and crashing the browser. A bug has already been filed on Sun's bug tracking system."
Also the update has also created from Flash Related crashes on Mac OS x.
The 2.0.0.9 Release is currently in RC1 state and could be released in the next week. If your brave enough find you download here.

On Mac I've found 2.0.0.8 to be the most stable FF release for ages! I'd almost given up on FF on the Mac with all the problems with the earlier 2.0.0.x builds but .8 has been great... Mind you, I can't remember the last time I tried to run a Java applet... I can't even remember the last time I encountered a Java applet!

Since moving to the Mac last July i've always found FF buggy as hell! I then moved to Camino but that hasn't been going all to well. So now I'm back on Safari (ver 3)
